Hello from Croydon

Hi all

Just getting back into cycling after a long long break!

Have a 23 year old Raleigh Record Ace all original right down to the tyres and I've owned it since new! Its's a little bit retro/good hack/club bike - a bit heavy now.

Have scared myself witless on the old Weinmann 500 sidepulls and am looking to upgrade these! Want to do a few canal paths and trails and road riding and get fit.

Welcome to CC... you'll find a lot of good advice on here and encouragement!

Hi RA - I'd be wanting to replace those old tyres in case of a blow out at speed.

Yes I replaced the tyres at the weekend with a set of Bontrager Race Lite Hard Case - the front tyre was well and truly perished - thanks for the hint!

I'm from Croydon my self.

a few shops i recomend are geoffry butler (good guys in their, but be warned, some of the stuff is expensive, and their website sucks)

and bike plus, both on brighton road. and both nice people in there.
