Just thought I'd say 'hello' to you all.

My name is Mike and I am currently looking at buying my first bike for ten years. Was quite into riding my mountain bike many moons ago, then got a car and that was that!
Now married with kids, am looking to get back into my hobby for a bit of solo time, fitness and save some fuel in the process!

Stumbled upon this forum whist doing some research (looking at a hybrid....I think!) got some good advice from it, and you all seemed so friendly I'd thought I'd sign up!

Read your comment on "Beginners" about your 406 HDI. I know it can be confusing on here - so.....

Tell us what you want to use the bike for.....what you want from it....where your going to use it.....how often you plan to use it.....a rough budget etc, etc, etc?????

Then we'll fling bike ideas at you - probably with some links and you'll get an idea from all our different views and interpretations of what you want of what's available. Then you can make your mind up.

Oh and the term Hybrid is vitually worthless now as almost all bikes are becoming "Hybrids" unless they're specialised - BMX, Road Racing, TT, MTB, etc, etc. So searching for Hybrids will through up loads of different confusing answers.

Probably best to post it in "Beginners and Riding" for a better response - good luck!!!

Another Devon member here,

Have just added a Secteur to my collection, it's a comfortable road bike with a triple for getting up all these hills.....

It is the best bike I have every owned and is getting me fit.

Hope the search for your new stead goes well...!

Hi Chewy and welcome. I live in West Somerset, but myself and my partner often go "up the road" to North Devon for weekends, and I even manage to wangle taking one of my bikes.

I'm sure you'll enjoy this place, it's very friendly and a good place to learn stuff.
