Hi Doddsy, like you my budget was much the same. I ended buying a Cannondale Caad8 2012 for £800 down from £949. Alu frame and carbon forks with Tiagra groupset. This bike is awesome and i regret nothing in buying it. Best and lightest frame in it's class and just looks the business in the white and green. Good luck with your purchase

Hi all I ended up buying a Wiliers Montegrappa, I am very pleased with it and following a few cleat moments have settled in nicely with it. I am pleased with the advice and service received from the cycle shop and have been out a few times on it.
