Hello, my name is Murray and I live in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.
I've been lurking here for a few weeks now and decided it was time to register.
After doing spin classes for a while and spending time on the exercise bike at the local gym I finally decided a few weeks ago that buying a bike and getting out into the fresh air would be more enjoyable. And it certainly is!
I bought a Giant Defy 4 from Edinburgh Bicycle Co-op in Aberdeen which I'm very happy with. On Saturday I bought clipless pedals, still waiting for shoes to arrive so I haven't gone clipless yet. I'm a wee bit apprehensive about it, the first time I went out on the bike I pulled in to the side of the road to let a tractor go by on a narrow road and came to a stop before taking my feet out of the toeclips and down I went! Thankfully there was a big grassy verge, so no damage done, just a red face
I also do a bit of running and go to the gym so I've only been averaging a couple of bike rides a week. 30 miles is my longest ride so far.
