Hello Everyone

I've been reading the cycle chat forums for a while now, but thought id sign up - so here I am. 32 year old male (also diabetic so its fun keeping those blood sugar levels up on long rides!)

Ive got a Boardman Hybrid - thru the cycle to work scheme - loving the bike. Currently im doing around 140miles a week, commuting Tuesday to Friday from Ealing to Camden whilst doing a couple of laps of Regents park in the morning. Also started going for longer rides on saturday morning. Upto 37 miles at the moment - adding on 5 miles each saturday!

Will look to buy a decent road bike in the summer - as looking to move house & will then be doing a 40 Mile commute each day! Not sure if that is realistic or not yet, but im definitely building my fitness up. Averaging 14miles per hour currently - those pesky London traffic lights!

Thinking about getting my bike serviced as have had it for 9 months - I live in small top floor flat - so dont have much room etc to do most stuff. When I get a house will look to learn how to do most things myself - however Im abit of a novice currently! (chuffed I managed to change my inner tube last week - took me ages getting the wheel back in thou) Does anyone have any recommendations of any good bikes shops in Camden or Ealing - I walked past Chamberlain Bikes the other day in camden - might give them a bash!

Thanks for any help - im sure I will have more questions further down the line!

What time do you leave Ealing?
Straight up the Uxbridge Road into Shepherds Bush?

I use that route, but start in Hillingdon!

Way earlier than me!

I find the uxbridge road ok,a big road with lots of room for cyclists. It also helps it has bus lanes running down large expanses of it.
The Ealing section gets a bit congested, but on the whole - ney bad
