Hi all names Colin been a long time lurker , but decided to join because its a cracking forum with lots of useful info . Not got my ride yet , but I'm looking at the specialised hardrock disc at the moment . Decided to return to cycling because firstly i loved it in my youth and secondly because I've now given up smoking for 150 days and counting and thought why not get fit doing something I enjoyed . Looking at just commuting to start and as I live right on a canal that goes right to my place of work its great , after that my plan is to do more recreational riding too because the idea of getting covered in mud makes me smile like a big kid . Anyways if any of you see a skinny old fart pedalling down the Ashton canal its probably me

Hi and welcome. Well done on the smoking too, I quit 7 years ago and still can't believe it myself. I quite liked it at the time!

Hi Colin welcome to CC, Like Dan Bo I commute between Failsworth and Ashton.
I do use the canals from Rochdale and Ashton to Manchester for Leisure Rides.
