Hello from Norway!

I am a 40 year old Englishman living in Bergen, Norway who decided to get involved in cycling just before the start of summer this year.
I was running for fitness but the steep climbs and drops here really did not agree with my old knees!
Cycling is very popular here so I decided to dip my toe in and buy a cheap 2nd hand merida mtb.
Ive had a lot of fun with it during this summer (It seems the summer is over here now) and really yearn for a new fast road bike now!
I have been using a hear rate monitor and also gps cycling apps on my Android phone to track my progress and improvements have been impressive.

To show my family and friends the scenery here I even started making some cycling youtube videos.

Hello tsddave from me in Oslo!

You're the third 'Norwegian' here - the other being Stephenite (who literally lives 200 yards down the road from me!).

I'm moving to Rosendal at the beginning of October for a year or so with the misses, so I'll look you up when we're in the neighbourhood if you like.

I had a nightmare trip today ,I was scaling a pretty steep road and one of my pedals must of come loose and it tore out of its thread.
The bikes now needing to be taken for repair and I am hopeful this will be covered under the warranty.
I ended up having to take the tram back to my car as I had already cycled some hours away from where I parked up and started my trip.
I might have to use the gym cycle this week if they take some time with the repair

Oh, that's a shame; I'm English myself (Brentwood - and Stephenite's from Manchester).

Brentwood! I lived there at one time myself!
Ive lived around Essex, Herts and London.

There are things I miss of course but im very happy here in Bergen and its a superb place for cycling for sure.
