Hey all,

After having a motorbike accident a couple of months ago (car pulled out of a junction on me) I decided to take up cycling again.

Not cycled in a few years but am only 26 now so thought I might aswell take the plunge again. So I brought a new bike and gonna get back to using 2 wheels the hard way ;)

Kind of jumping in at the deep end with 7 mile commute each way to work every day with some fairly big hills (well look it when you haven't cycled in a while) but with no other form of transport I need to get top work somehow.

If I survive the first week of commuting you might see me about some more ;)

Chris.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to Cycle Chat and welcome back on to the bike.

Where in SE London you commuting to/from?

Welcome to the forums and good luck!

I've only just started commuting, but I can guarantee you it is a rewarding experience, especially knowing that whilst others fork out to go to the gym you get your daily dose of exercise.

I will be going from Crayford to Swanely, not a huge distance really  I am on very outskirts London.

Hi and welcome, Chris. When you said SE London I thought ''Oh, a local'' But you're way further out than I am. From what I remember, Crayford is low and Swanley is higher, so your journey home will be a doddle.

Thanks all, well first day was not too bad, 30mins to do 7 miles which I don't think is too bad considering it's my first real time on a bike in some years.... ;)

Aye, journey home was quicker than there that's for sure, all in all not a bad first day
