Hello. Ive lurked for a while, just no had the chance to post.

I'll confess I'm a fair weather rider and I try to commute when I can, customer appointments dictate that I'm afraid. I'm lucky to live in very near the canal networks so my commute takes me 12 miles along the grand union from Catherine-de-Barnes virtually to my office door so I have no traffic to contend with. At weekends it's the road bike. I've only really been riding regularly for the last year or so, I'm contemplating the Shakespeare 100 in September... we'll see! ^_^

Morning and welcome, nice part of the world, probably passed very close to yours at an unearthly early time yesterday morning by taxi on the way to Leamington to work a very early train service to Worcester (covering one of their jobs!). Taxi went through Knowle, Lapworth, Hatton etc. So I know what lovely countryside you have on your doorstep to get out and indulge in.
Solihull are a massive club with about 5 or 6 rides on a Sunday so I would imagine if you fancied it you would have plenty of choices. Keep on getting the miles in and enjoy yourself, I have done the last 2 Shakespeare 100 rides (September 11 and April 12). I did the 100km in September and the April version was 100km, I would recommend them as routes have been fantastic. The middle sections have a little sting in them as they involve climbs up on to the Cotswolds which are quite sharp, but all part of the fun.
I have managed to get round in pretty good times but need to get my a**e into gear and enter the September event as I saw places were filling up fast. They are well organised.
There is another good event at the end of June run by Beacon CC. These are the Cotswold Audaxes that they organise, 3 distances starting from Wythall rugby club, again down towards the Cotswolds, climb up and then depending on the length of ride make their way back via Wellsbourne and Stratford.
Anyway keep enjoying yourself and hope you decide to do an event later in the year.
