Hi Davy, a belated to the forum.

I grew up on a smallholding in Ceredigion ... the ponies coped a lot better with the hills than my bike! At least I could ride them up and down the gradients.

Hi Davy, I'm down here in East Devon but my outlaws live up in Emlyn. I took my other half on a route out to Cilgerran Castle last summer, she'd only just started cycling herself and definitely didn't enjoy some of the hills... In my defence, I didn't really know how it was going to be either from just looking at a road map with no elevations, no wonder father-in-law just smiled quietly to himself when I showed him our proposed route...
