Hello everyone!

My name is Tom, and I'm from Szeged, Hungary. I have a Radius Orange MTB from the Kelly's, and I'm plan to buy another in black. I don't remember, when did I start to ride, but I have riden active since 2005 spring.

I'm a member of the biggest hungarian cycle club, and I'm a organizer of the Critical Mass in Szeged and Budapest. And I have a helmet cam, so I always record my commute and upload the videos to Youtube. Cycling in Hungary is dangerous a bit beacause of many seperated cycle paths, I always try to ignore them. And sometimes I go to the city hall with my friends to explain the problems, but the delegates are too dumb to undrstand it. So I made a cycle blog called Szegedbicaj (Cycle Szeged) with a "brother-in-arms".

I hope, I will collect the experiences from all of the world, for example the special cycle lanes and and the traffic rules for cyclists. And some usefull tools for example new helmet camera or GPS.

I almost forgot. I haven't ridden my bike for 4 months. I had a surgery because of a slipped disc I got it in an accident some years ago. But I will resume within fornigth.

And sorry for my bad English, I haven't used since left high school. :/

Thank you, guys. :hello:

skudupnorth : Don't ask, it is not good. When I have enough time, I will make a topic about it. Everything you want to know.

Aperitif: Good idea, I posted some videos, enjoy.

yello: Yes, it's mine. But it's in hungarian, so it would be useless here. Isn't it problem?

HLaB: Good idea. Come here, if you have some time.

Hi Tom,

Welcome to the forum. It'll be good to have some Hungarian input on here.

I know what you mean about the Hungarian cycle paths. Like a lot of UK versions, they are just not practical but car drivers "encourage" cyclists to get on them.

I was in Budapest in the summer. We headed south to the Balkans crossing the border at Hercegszanto. Hungary was full of mosquitoes this time (Recent rain) ..!! http://www.crazyguyonabike.com/doc/budapesttocorfu2010

Also passed through one year from Balassagyarmat>Budapest>Balaton>Redics into Slovenia and on another visit we crossed the border at Rajka>Gjor to Komarom.

Have a safe return to cycling.
