Hey EbonyWillow, welcome!
You'll have to join us on the the Forum ride to Staveley when I re-run it the spring!
Hopefully, that will be after I get over my current illness and am fit enough to ride it again - I really enjoyed this year's ride, despite not being fully fit for it and having to miss the last climb!

I'm sure you'll soon be back, raring to go, leaner and faster than ever!

:welcome: The first I did on my CAAD was in the Lakes, love it up there and should come up more often, it's only an hour for me so I've no excuse really.

You're certainly not short of training roads to build upto Hardknott and Wrynose etc are you?

Have a crack at Hawkshead Hill, that'll get your pulse going for the big climbs ^_^

Thanks for the welcomes!! Nope definately no shortage of hills! The village I live in is on the edge of the coast and whichever way I go I have a hill so there's no hiding from them. I only work a mile from home but it's all uphill so a good start there lol. I have found a good pub at the bottom of Hardknott too on my last camping trip!!

There's also the four seasons version of the Fred Whitton if you fancy riding the route outside of the sportive

Hi, and welcome from another almost-in-the lakes-er
There are some fantastic rides, but getting to them from Carlisle is a problem when your husband refuses to put a bike carrier on the car:angry:
There is a new bike - bus that runs from Keswick to windermere, have any of you tried it?
