Hello, I have been out of cycling for a long long time, but I have now just today gone and bought a new bike.
Its really just for fitness and fun, but if it gets me back down to a reasonable waits size that's going to be fine with me.
So hopefully I will become an active member and be fit for life.

One of those Trek 7.4 bikes. Looked at Halfords, thought they had some good bikes but price wise there was really no difference for what I was after. Then I also went to specialized four or five times and looked at a crosstrail and a couple of others. Felt like they had the monopoly here in Harrogate which was a slight put off for me. Went to a couple of independent locals, both of them have bikes in the £300 to £400 level but the state of the shops and display of the bikes ( just in a pile ) so for that sort or money I did not expect to have to extract my new bike from the heap. But a new shop just opened down the road, brilliant and clean selling Trek and Whyte bikes. It's a established firm with shops in other towns nearby. So decision to make disks or v brake, solid or suspension forks. Quite simple really not doing any really rough stuff, want light weight and wanted a bit of speed if I ever get fit.
