Hi I'm a newbie to cycling (as an adult did plenty as a kid!) I'm from Ramsgate in Kent. I have a heart condition and was told to exercise as much as I can so thought I'd try cycling, I bought a really cheap mountain bike off Ebay just in case I didn't take to cycling I wouldn't have wasted much money and after my first ride I was hooked!!

So 5 months on I have now bought a shiny new road bike and I absolutely love it! Not done a huge amount of miles as still slowly building up my fitness but I did a 25 mile charity ride in June and have done a few Skyride local rides.

Im from Kent too though a bit further up than you in West Malling.

This is a very friendly site and ask whatever you like as there will always be a few who will love to give their advice.

Keep posting, we love pictures too and most of all enjoy the ride and whats around you at the time.

There are a few other cyclists down your way such as @SHornswaggle and @Aga and have a look at the local cycling clubs too.

I'm new too - live in central Scotland and just got back to biking after injury/ ongoing illness.
Oh, and we have 27km of brand spanking new cycle paths around some gorgeous areas...and I live right in the middle of it! I couldn't NOT take advantage now, could I? LOL
