Dug the bike out the shed a year ago to save the bus fare on the short commute to work.

Since then I've caught the distance bug and been doing longer and longer days out at the weekends and have now got a few 100mile days under my belt.

Interests? touring and audaxes, if I can get my speed up that is!

Hi Wandrin!

I dug out my bike a bit over a year ago but I'm still at the short commute stage. Huge improvement in my health and big savings on fuel and parking have resulted even so!

Hi and :welcome: it's funny how all of a sudden you find yourself going further and further. Although i have been cycling for years i only got my first road bike in May. I had images of speeding around the highways and byways near me but i have found my pace has slowed and my distance has grown very quickly and it's brilliant. I can see some touring and an Audax appearing in my calendar next year.

Enjoy the forum, it's a good friendly place with lots of knowledge and experiences in all sort of things amongst it's members. Keep posting and post some pictures of your ride too as it's great to see where everybody else rides.

Hi Wandrin and :welcome:.

You're doing better than me. Have only just worked up to my first 100 during the summer after years of riding and haven't repeated it yet (probably won't be 'til the spring now).

If you haven't already seen them, the site has sections for both touring and audax, so you should find plenty that's of interest.

Welcome to the forum ^_^

It appears to me the more you ride the more you want to ride. I often glance out the office window and wish I was out riding. I just started three months ago and love it, dark nights and winter don't faze me, I've invested in some decent gear to keep me warm(ish) and dry(ish).
