Did you know that in French an umbrella is a 'parapluie'? Literally, 'for rain' - as a parasol is 'for sun'. Cool huh? But there's no parameteor to my knowledge. :rain:
In Spanish the word for umbrella is paraguas (literally 'for water'). Oddly enough, I heard a Spaniard speaking in English and referring to a parasol as an 'umbrella'. Literally, the English word parasol means 'for sun' (in Spanish), but in Spanish they call them sombrillas!!

Ah, I bet the Earth is wearing a helmet. :becool:
:stop: No, I think you'll find it has more to do with the fact that the earth is flat, apart from the bits I happen to be cycling on.

yeah! you could get hit on the head by a meteor!!
oh dear me! I wasnt expecting a silly remark like that.

Spent ten years of my working life managing litigation and administering compensation for head injury cases. As you might expect mines, mills and falls/heavy stuff dropped from height featured big along with driving.

Walking home pi55ed is the unexpected biggy; accounted for approx 7 cases for every one involving cyclists.

If you feel more secure in a helmet fine but it gives limited protection from low speed impacts - it's not a lifesaver like car seatbelts or impact bars. Those who prefer the wind in what's left of their hair know this stuff.
