so... this meteor/meteorite thing... I always assumed a meteor became a meteorite the moment it hits the ground... but somebody suggested it was when it broke through the atmosphere.

by the way, Rasta is a nice name for a doggy

All of you be nice, Fran's new.

I personally was aware that Fran was new.

Given the post was in café, I decided to take the opportunities to attempt to humorously (well....) derail the thread rather than take it seriously. I was also hoping it'd stop others take it too seriously.

Anyway, back to dope smoking rasta-dogs and polar ice caps ;)

You should wear a helmet in any kind of activity were your head may suffer an impact...it could save your life...simple.
No ifs and buts, if you look like a complete tosser - who gives dam?? safety is paramount..no excuses.

Bit like Hi-Viz really

Tesco have a risk assessment in place that shows car parks are dangerous and require their staff to wear Hi-Viz when working in such an area.

How irresponsible is it that hey allow the public to endanger themselves by walking around car parks without HI-Viz?

Totally off topic.

I used to wok for a London Charity that included respite care for problem families. We would look after the kids for a short term to allow a break.

One of the girls was called Odaku, and the family name was "Daki"

We used to get some really nasty looks referring to a nine year old nigerian girl as "Daki" and one guy had a right go at us in Canrrbury about our racism!

actually i always wear a helmet in the cafe... too many pots being thrown about

One of those cafes?

Why didn't you call her by her first name (Odaku)?

I was twice bitten by the same dog, could've been a rottweiler, after some kid around the corner kept letting it loose on me, after the second time, and only after the second time was it put down. This was around 12 years ago when I was 7, I still have a very faint pale spot on my right forearm when the teeth went in.
I got bitten on the hand by a Ring Tailed Lemur at South Lakes Animal Park a few years ago, vicious little b'stard, razor sharp teeth. I'm scarred for life, literally and metaphorically. Fat lot of use the helmet was then.

Ah, Francesca, maybe you haven't yet had the pleasure of one of the main helmet threads on here yet. The only time you REALLY need to wear protective headgear is when engaging in a debate on CC involving helmets! There are people on both sides of this particular debate who would spear you with a hot poker for disagreeing with their POV!

Liking the new popcorn icon. Must've been added specially for the helmet threads!

You could have smacked it one with the helmet, thus proving that cycle helmets do in fact cause serious head injuries!
