Not really, but it did save me from a nasty bruise, went for a ride today out in the Kent countryside, I wore my helmet because it was a bit damp when I left, I was coming down a fairly steep hill and there was a mighty "CRACK!" and my head jerked back a little. I stopped to see what had happened and there was light brown smear up the front of my helmet, I assume it was a bee or a wasp doing a kamikaze attack on me.

A good thing about today is that I can say my semi hard Ortlieb rack box is 100% waterproof, unlike my jacket.

Th insect may have been attracted by the helmet, or only hit your head because of the increase in effective size.

I can tell you that dried insect guts are hard to clean off thermoplastic. I have a Briko Twinner, last time I wore it in the sun, a wasp got into an air vent and then got trapped in the airflow channels, all I could hear was the angry buzzing, until I stopped and shook the poor thing out of the lid.

Are you sure? Is this anecdotal or evidence? I also wonder why the insect didn't slide by the slippery surface between the cracks.

On a more serious note, please get yourself checked out for rotational injuries.

They are very hard to remove from leathers as well. My kid runs a mile when I wear my old suit as they are all over the chest and shoulder areas after a ride out in the summer
