Hi all,
Can anyone tell me the best way to get dirty chain lube out of a Gore soft shell without ruining it please?
Cheers.

Dab it with clean petrol or lighter fluid with a clean cloth, keep using a clean bit of cloth. Then wash as usual.

Then change into old clothes next time you're working on you're bike!

Good point but I literally bent down to pick up a glove. Didn't realise I'd touched the chain until I got home and Mrs Cambie pointed it out. Doh!

Thanks for the ideas everyone.

Brake disc cleaner is my recommendation for all things unwantedly oily! Spray it on - the oil comes to the surface. Dab it off with kitchen roll and repeat.
Saved my bacon on a number of occasions (especially when I walked oil over our 3 week old beige carpet!)

I was more concerned with not damaging the windproof membrane than anything else. Sorted by rubbing in some mild baby washing liquid, leaving for 20 minutes then soaking in warm water for a couple of hours.

Thanks for all the ideas everyone.
Cheers.
