I wear the Rapha Merino leg warmers which I really like as they are soft, warm but really rubbish in wet weather so I only wear when in the dry. I have found that they are not staying up any longer, they tend to work there way down the thigh on and off bike. It appears the silicon grippers over time have lost their grip. One solution is to put the top opening of the warmers under my bib-shorts but I don't wear bib-shorts on short rides - I wear a polyester sports brief combined with an unlined running shorts (with pockets) over the top of the briefs. Does anyone have any suggestions for tights as an alternative to the the leg warmers. Tights won't work their way down and I can lose the briefs and wear them under the shorts. I'd really like something that feels similar to the merino.
I have an older Rapha wind jacket which I really like the design and fit of as it has plenty of stretch and is long at the back. It's also very light and folds down small for the jersey pocket. It's this:
The problem with the Rapha jacket is:
1) it has no water resistance – I can live with that as it's primary purpose is to layer and block wind on cold days.
2) it blocks wind poorly - it has little wind resistance.
Suggestions for a replacement light-weight wind jacket that actually blocks the wind is very much appreicated.
