I haven't been to Crich for years, that sounds like a day out for us, with a trip to Matlock Bath for fish & chips.Might go to space centre at Easter. And you get a years pass so could use it a few times....
Before he started school I took him Crich tramway museum loads of times on one entry fee as it was a yearly pass if you gift aided it

With regard to the Space Centre, try to get there for opening time, it gets very busy in the afternoons, especially in School holidays
There's a few interesting museums Coventry way: the Coventry Transport Museum is free, as is the Herbert Art Gallery & Museum. They're both interesting. So is the Cathedral, but for entirely different reasons.
