Help please?

Hi im looking to get into cycling and have around 400 pounds to spend on a bike mainly for fitness to start with looking at either hybrid or road, any suggestions?

Triban 3 from decathlon is rated very highly, at £300 with carbon fork is a good starting road bike.

if you want a hybrid then a Ridgeback Velocity served me very well for 2 years but then the bug bit and i bought a road bike!! its still in use now with my brother but I do miss it though as it was very quick (i get similar speeds on my road bike that i did with the ridgeback!)

Triban 3 or second hand bike as you would get a bit more for your money but slightly older.

Triban 3 and you will have a little spare for the accessories needed (lock, gloves, buff, better lights, cycle computer etc)

nahhh... you got to count them by colour. new one is meant to be white...

really depends largely on what you already know about bikes, and if you trust your judgement to buy something that has not got major issues, been repaired but not safe, etc....
I have purchased off ebay, and got a decent 2nd hand mtb. I have also purchased from the for sale forums here and got a better 2nd hand mtb for myself as well.

Well I searched eBay after visiting a lbs to get rough sizing on different bike frames. I got brand new wiliee montegrapper for a fraction of the full cost.

IMHO the specialized Sirrus is a good hybrid bike, I have owned mine for two years now and it's is still excellent to ride,
