Help! - Which bike

Hi

I'm looking to upgrade my bike to commute to work, my route is a 18 mile round trip on national cycle path network. I also would want to do some light touring.

I wish to fit the bike with a pannier rack.

The choice of bikes is mind blowing - looking to spend £500 - £800.

The Giant Seek 2 has good reviews and is my preferred choice at present.

Some staff in cycle shops rave about the cube brand.

Which bike would you recommend?

What about the Carrera Subway 8? Its a lot of bike for the money (with Alfine 8 Speed hub,) which is normally only available on much higher priced bikes!

It is all set for panniers etc...

It does seem a good bike for the money. Don't think it comes in xl frame which I need.
