Help with new rear wheel

Hi,

I have a 2013 Voodoo Bizango and the freehub needs replacing. Apparently I need a " SRAM Freehub Body for X9 Hub V2" but I'm struggling to find one so I'm investigating if I should just get a new rear wheel. I don't have a lot of spare cash atm coupled with the fact its an old bike so I don't want to throw too much cash at it, so I'm looking at getting something "cheaper" - i.e. less than £100

After looking around I found a couple of sellers on Ebay -

The rear wheel is a 135 x 10 QR.

I have to admit I don't really know much about these things so am learning as I go along, so I'm after some guidance on what is best to do.

My riding is mostly around epsom/ashstead/boxhill areas and I suspect its more "gravel" style riding (if that helps).

Does anyone have any experience of these sellers or recommendations on where I should be looking. I appreciate I could easily spend a lot more but atm the bike is out of action so I need to sort something asap within my limited budget. Is second hand an option?

I'd really appreciate any help as I'm going round the houses!

If it's just the freehub that needs replacing then getting another wheel is an expensive way of resolving the problem. Have you changed a freehub before? If so I'd definitely try and go down that route. It's not a big job and providing you can source one (I've found one or two places that appear to have them in stock but in reality they may not) it'll cost around £25 for the part. Even getting your lbs to do it would be less than the cost of a wheel I'd have thought.

The problem I have is I cant seem to find the freehub part anywhere in the UK and I'm not 100% that's the one I need. I got the detail from here -

Agreed. UK suppliers seem to be out of stock. I'm not familiar with SRAM freehubs but it's possible, if they're like some Shimano ones, you could get a ten speed freehub instead and use a spacer at the back. For example I struggle to get 7 speed freehubs for my winter bike so Ive used 10 speed and dropped a spacer on the back of the freehub - works fine. Failing that you could either look on eBay for a used wheel or try one of the many bike charity shops scattered round the country but you'd need to find one near you because they rarely post things. Where I work as a volunteer we'd probably have a wheel that could fit what you're looking for but we don't post. These sort of places aren't your typical online type shop. They're not geared up for posting stuff....not enough staff. However, they do have a wealth of used parts.
