Help with plant identification

It's probably a weed but it was free so I stuck it in the ground and voila these little flowers appeared.

@Hill Wimp I've been racking my brain cell as I know what it is, but can't put a name to it. Again I fall victim to having forgotten more than I now know (which wasn't that much to start with!)

I got it as a freebie with some plants I bought at a local nursery. I haven't a clue what it is.

I had some given to me by a friend some years ago. He didn't know what they were, so neither did I. HTH
They self-seeded for a couple of years but then sank without trace.

Fair enough. Wasn't completely sure; there would normally be a sort of 'pip' in the centre of the flower, and the leaves didn't look quite right.
Damned if I'm going to trawl through both volumes of the RHS A-Z encyclopedia though!
