Hero Bikes............coming to the UK ??

I was watching the golf on TV, which this week comes from near Delhi (India) and is sponsored by "Hero".........who I had never heard of.
So good old Google came to the rescue. Apparently they are the largest manufacturer of 2 wheeled transport (ie bikes & motor bikes) in the world. They used to be connected to Honda but not any longer.
Other reports told me they are opening up manufacturing facilities in Manchester.............early 2017.

Does anyone have any concrete knowledge and more details of this ??

I know them quite well, Hero bikes are ubiquitous in the Indian subcontinent. Very cheap as you'd expect, they retail for about 40 to 60 pounds in India, I'd imagine they'd sell for about Apollo money here. Some odd designs, but they seem to last well and they're fairly well equipped for the price, most have low end Shimano gear.

Hero bought the ebike company Ultra Motor a few years ago.

Talk at the time of a relaunch and new models, although not much seems to have happened, at least in the UK.
