Its really not...embrace it, you never know if you share the drafting and both enjoy it you may find yourself a ride buddy. Had lots of chats with riders who have I've shared the ride with.

Sticking at the back, Yep that is poor etiquette.

Mm, didn't really think of it like that...still makes me wobble though...two sides to every coin, I suppose. Cheers for that
Its definatley a little off putting at first, especially if your new to it...or worse still you don't realise they are there until they surprise you...but do try and persevere, Riding in a group, sharing the wind is an awesome experience and the sense of superhuman achievement is awesome....until its your turn at the front!!

That was the part that was relevant to me. So no, I'm afraid not if we all did that Shaun's site would collapse.

Edit...I say that with all due respect and sincerity. I'm not being flippant It just isn't how the internet works.

Yeah I'm not very fond of those RLJers who interrupt pedestrians flow to cross the road. I will sometimes jump a red when its safe to meaning there are NO pedestrians crossing, waiting to cross, or any where near the crossing section. Most of the time however I stop at reds just to take a breather.

What did you think of the pollution levels though? I was in Edinburgh many years ago and the air was so fresh. London air sucks.

I see sometimes men doing dangerous things attempting to stay behind female cyclists especially during summer. I can understand coz my hormones go nuts too but usually I can't keep up so I go at my own pace. But I'll stress again some of those blokes are a little sadistic in summer on the roads.
I was around Liverpool St for the most part. On foot I didn't notice pollution. Tbh Edinburgh traffic feels as bad. And we now have tram tracks which are flipping lethal to bikes. My usual commute is via tha Forth and the Kelpies at Falkirk though.

I miss my commute in London (and my commute across the Forth to Edinburgh) as I work from home now. My commute consists of 25 miles at lunchtime on country roads
I rode a Dahon in London and in 3 years got hit by 2 taxis, one bus (all while I was at a stand still in traffic) and one bike (I stopped at a red light and he obvioulsy thought I shouldn't have!).

My eyes used to get very red when commuting in London, but I had quite a nice route, from Queens Park - Abbey Road, past Lords, Regents Park,, Hyde park, then into Belgravia to Victoria - though originally I used to go to Chancery Lane.. I used to detour through Kensington Palace Gardens too, just for extra miles.

I loved London at 7 in the am, different at night though!

I thought it was an unwritten rule NEVER to overtake a female cyclist. (So my wife says anyway )

Kelpies - pure magic!

I draft if I find someone fast enough and it's windy and I have no problem with someone drafting me, anyone doing it properly at any decent pace knows what they're doing anyway

Some sort of joke at the end is always called for, mine is usually 'I'd like to have helped out but I was barely holding on' (when it's true)

In the year where I got really quick I remeber two very long rides at speed down the Mile End Road and once right up through Leyton where I was flat out all the way with not a thought of trying to do anything else other then stay on their wheel knowing that if i didn't I'd never get back to them

if you don't like someone drafting, a look of disapproval and a 'pass me' wave of the hand is clear enough
