Wandering round Mk-One today (don't ask, was looking for something a bit random!), my eyeballs were assaulted by what I can only term the most garish of fluorescent items. In yellow, pink, or orange (maybe other colours, I don't remember...) you could pick up a collared t-shirt, leggings, or a vest.
Other than a roller-disco, I'm not sure where one might wear such items. Then it dawned on me- they were so lurid, they might be perfect for cycling, esp as the nights seem to be closing in!
Didn't have a chance to get any, but I think prices were around eight squids.
Sorry guys....

Probably for Essex girls so that they can be seen (if not heard) in the dark!

I'm an Essex boy, BTW!

I saw a lot of girls (14/15 yo) 2 days running (different girls) in fluorescent clothes at Upminster station about 2 weeks ago. Not seen any since and my teenage daughter had never heard of it as a fashion statement.

I saw two girls, about that age or a bit younger, the other day, black tops, black miniskirts (or might have been hotpants), black high heeled shoes and fluro pink legwarmers!

I also saw a gaggle of fluorescent clad girls heading towards Upminster Station.

Thankfully I missed out on this in the 80's as i was too goth'd up to wear anything but black which i still have a proclivity to, apart from my flouro jacket ;)

I went to a gig in Camden last week and in amongst all the black was a guy wearing a pair of hi-viz waterproof overtrousers with reflective strips. He definitely wasn't on a bike because at the end he was on the tube all the way to Charing X and then got an overground train.

I didn't realise it was the latest fashion!

Oh yes, that's a flashback to the 80's alright!

Before evolving into a goth I used to wear bleached jeans or a leopard print skirt with fishnets, pink flourescent socks and a flourescent pink leopard print top and studded belts. If only I had a scanner I'd treat you all to the photos...

Well, I think if I put a pair of pink fluro fishnets on, it might make drivers take a bit of notice
I've only ever seen people actually dressed like that going to a roller disco!
