We all have to start sometime, so don't worry about feeling a numpty here. Some of us have been cycling years and we're still numpties!
I don't know about Hi-Vis being the height of fashion, I always thought black was; but if you can be seen, then it increases your chances of staying alive! Or becoming an even more identifiable target!
