After last year I thought about a little contest again, that was a bit more mainstream...

So basically this is what last year's competition was:-

How high, under your own steam, can you, your bicycle and your Fridays' jersey get? Which Col or Puerto or Passo will you slog up in it this summer. (Which ends, for the purposes of this challenge, when BST ends)

The changes I'm going to make are that you take a photograph of someone else or yourself going up, going down or at the top of a hill/mountain instead. It can include the summit or a picture of a height sign but that is not particularly necessary, but I'd envisaged it more being about downhill (boo) and views than just summits.. So perhaps you might have a photo of a group of fridays jerseys going down a steep hill. It is not necessary to do the Monte Crostis (although I'd be very impressed if you did).

To win you have to submit photographic evidence on this thread of your presence, with your bike, robed in your finest Fridays jersey, green or blue I care not, atop the summit. Please follow the template of my starter for 10 below, perhaps doing better than me at getting the height in shot. An additional, special, bonus prize is on offer those who make their climbs specifically on a Friday like I did. (Scout's honour will suffice for this, all The Fridays are gentlefolk and would not stoop so low as to cheat...!)

This year due to the challenges of downhill I will allow headcam stills taken from videos or camera stills. You can submit pretty much anything you want, although I'd like it to be a climb listed on climbbybike or an official climb/descent on one of the Fridays rides (and hopefully somewhere with google streetview).

I've lined up some top judges for this and the winner will win a bottle of whisky that I haven't decided yet, I have to consult the three wise men (gregcollins, User482 and charlieB).

The competitions open at the start of the Ramsgate FNR and ends on Monday 27th of August at 02:13:00 to hopefully be presented for the Brighton ride on the 31st of August 2012. Photos will be taken between these dates (so mine from last year doesn't count as an entry). Happy riding.

Another parallel competition will run. Same rules, but with a CC Jersey. The prize will be a CC buff and another similar prize to the first one.

Here for rides.
Me like. Should be a few photo ops in June on LoNJoG and on my Highland Foray Pt II in May.

Oh come on Dave - that's just some poxy old Cycling Forum, not an elitist, ground-breaking life-changing subset of concentrated richness where everyone is content to sport Iraqui style garments in collective fashion. Marinade would get in a bit of a pickle subscribing to that sort of thing...
...and deliver parcels for the rail network in their spare time ^_^
