Hills usually make a ride more interesting, as do bends, so my mini-tour of the Netherlands next month will be a test!!

you can't call yourself a complete rider if you don't do hills. personally i find them hard, but i can be proud of myself when i get up them. and a fast downhill on a main road with a good road surface is a joy.

How is it you look at one hill with fear but discover that it wasn't as bad as you thought it was going to be and other hiils looks like a scoosh but ends up almost causing you to have a Coronary?. Explain that!

What makes me get up a hill is the other side, Cos what goes up must come down is what they say?
What a lovely reward!!xx(

Hmm! In my experience it's what goes down MUST go up!

I don't mind them. Being a big bloke (6'1'' and 15 stone) I'm not exactly dancing on my pedals going up, but give me hills than a strong headwind anyday!

The down makes the up worthwhile for me, unexpected plateaus really spoil my day.
I'm beginning to understand that they don't get easier, you just get quicker.

I actually prefer going up them than down them. I prefer the pain rather than the scare when descending
I have a deal for you, then: I'll do your downhills for you if you do my uphills for me. Deal?
