Going to Menorca some seemingly obvious questions come to mind..............

1) As it will (hopefully) be hot I will need 2 bottles of water for a days ride.........do the bikes come complete with bottle holders and even bottles ?
If not........would I need to take bottles with me ?......that seems extreme for just 2 days but I will need water.
I suppose I could buy 2 while there but again that sounds extreme (use twice and throw them away.

2) Do they come with saddle bags/puncture repair kit/basic tools etc. ?

3) what happens if you have a mechanical problem 20 miles out ?

Any other obvious suggestions welcome......thanks

Bikes will have 2 cages, take own bottles or indeed, buy them.

Youll get a frame pump if lucky and a tube/tyre levers in small saddlebags.

Take your own multitool, ask hire co questions before travel

3) fix it?

As above, some of those would appear to be specific questions for the hire company

You could always take the bottles with you? Or take them home? Get some groovy ones not available in the uk?

I've not hired in Menorca, but I've hired in Spain and Portugal a few times and in general, I think:

1) varies, ask - collapsing waterbottles with carabiners to hang them off the back of the saddle rails may be worth taking just in case (and useful for other days out) and some round shop water bottles will fit OK if take a velcro strap, although in either case, you'd need to stop to drink.

2) varies, ask - but I usually carry a small multitool and it's been useful.

3) when I broke a hire bike so I couldn't fix it at the roadside, the hire company's bike pickup/dropoff van detoured to me and swapped the bike.
