I dont remember if this video has been posted here before, its possible but couldnt find anything.
Anyhow,

View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-4TYhkx1CU

This footage has been re-uploaded with the driver's face visible. MUST WATCH -Warning viewer discrection advised. In January 2011 a hit and run driver was caught on vehicle dashcam hitting a 75 year old man knocking him to the floor, driver made no attempt to stop and was chased and caught a few miles away.

If there was ever a driver who deserved jail time, it is most certainly this one and a long time at that.
From what I remember first watching the video the old man survived but was badly injured.
Stuff like this only strengthens any support I have for life long bans

I've seen that video before, it's shocking. The version I saw had her face visible too. It's just not believable sometimes how callous people can be, and sadly getting behind the wheel of a car can bring that out even more.

That one has made it onto TV. Same driver caught driving having been banned over this. Her job was a child minder, if I remember right.

One of the strengths of camera footage is the ability to show the consistency of bad driving.

All too many times it is cas that the witnesses see a single "snapshot" at the scene of an incident, and the driver can claim a single misjudgement

In this case she drives in appalling manner throughout.

No seemed to about it. What did one if the say, "If we stay up her arse, we'll probably get her doing something really bad"?

How right they were! There should be life bans for such drivers.

I won't comment on the means by which she was filmed since I don't know enough, but dash-cams per se seem a good idea.

Driving by both motrists was poor, whether this footage is real or fake.

I'd expect dashcam footage of a driver passing the wrong side of a bollard, hitting a pedestrian and FTS to get very wide media coverage. I strongly suspect this is fake, but if it isn't:

Batman and Robin caught a callous and heartless motorist, but their own vigilantism is far, far, far from what I want to see on UK roads.

She was a disgrace. It is a good thing that she's been charged, if this footage is real and if this really happened.

Batman and Robin ought to have been at home, playing a console game.

Just because the outcome involved an arrest (which would have been made without chasing the errant motorist) does not excuse the dashcammers' bizarre behaviour.

Others will disagree.

Any news of what happened when this woman got to court... as I hope she did.
There is very little information on this, to the extent that some other forums seem to think the whole video was faked, as there was so little press coverage.
What I have managed to find is this comment on another forum
"Mrs Hamid was found guilty at Isleworth Crown Court last month. She was sentenced to 12 months of prison suspended for two years, 200 hours of unpaid work and ordered to pay Mr Sharma, who is still recovering from his injuries, £500 in damages.
She will also be banned from driving for 3 years and will have to take an extended driving test before she is allowed back on the road."
