Hit in the face......

.......yesterday by a pigeon @ 20mph bloody hurts!! Smashed my shades and bounced off my helmet.

Anyone else been hit by a bird?

Yeah me, at about the same speed. It felt like someone punched me in the cheekbone. I was on my skates, mind, not the bike.

Only when in the car, it lost . I did have to fish the dead bird out of the front air intakes for the radiator - that took some doing.

I punched a pigeon once.
I was on foot, startled a couple of pigeons and one flew towards me, I instinctly raised my hand and ended up punched the thing.

I've not been hit by a bird but some pigeons are brazen and seem to have no fear.

I had a seagull clip my helmet at 30mph. Me and the WVM in the lane outside me shared a look of "OMG did you see that?!" before both bursting out laughing.

I was following a wagon on the way to Gt Yarmouth last summer, when one flew into the front of the it. I couldn't believe how many feathers it had as we drove through the subsequent 'blizzard'.

Never hit by a bird but I did ask my Dad what I should do if a bird ever $hit on my bike.

I have came close to getting taken out by a pheasant on more than one occasion. Same place on the commute and I am sure the bugger waits for me each evening...
