ive watched most of this guys videos and can only conclude the man is a fecking idiot with a camera on a bike , yes some of the drivers were in the wrong but the mans reactions are the same as road rage and as such he gives cyclists a bad name

if he had any sense on approaching junctions he should be anticipating other people making a mistake and take precautions like any decent road user irrespective if he is on a bike or in a car

I can only agree.
I'm not going to post the vid, but the one where he is facing down a couple of cars overtaking a bus is just ridiculous.

yeah and and the one with the van

Isn't he being just a bit naive about the powers of cycle lanes and cycle rights, rather than being stupid or arrogant. Come on, if you started cycling you'd expect a cycle lane was only there to keep you safe and it was a lane that all others should treat like any other lane they needed to cross, give way and look before they entered or crossed it?

The guy clearly has mental issues - no one on a bike should be that angry that often. He seems to spend a lot of his time looking for trouble and purposefully putting himself in dangerous situations so he can have a go at drivers who are driving in a way that most people would think of as considerate.

Especially at an intersection. He should have tucked himself behind the taxi.
In mitigation that's the problem with these cycle feeder lanes, they create ambiguity. The demarcation leads cyclists into thinking its their space to use.

When in fact it doesn't say "Use this but not if something is turning left which you can never tell if they are".

I don't really like ASLs and filter lanes, nor cycle lanes in general to be honest. They create danger when it doesn't need to be created and at least around here, the ASLs put in basically just serve to irritate drivers. They are put in and the odd guy gets to it for the driver to have to overtake again, which is pointless. In my nearly 3 years of semi regularly riding (or at least owning a bike) I've used 1 once, and I got a horrific punishment pass for it (I'm talking close enough that if I'd have wobbled even slightly, I'd have been killed) - I just don't bother now as my life is more important than getting to the front of the queue.

Plus in this case, a badly designed one quite possibly contributed to the death of somebody, which is saying a lot for the knuckledraggers who design them in the first place.

I think quite a few people are getting out of order on this topic. There's no need to be quite so nasty and denigrating about this chap, and I think you mods should be hot on this behaviour. It's unacceptable on a friendly cycling community.

OTOH I agree, that was a serious misjudgement by the cyclist. He's admitted fault on the video now, and who can't respect someone who learns from his mistake, albeit eventually? I can't be the first person to have made the same mistake twice, surely?

It did take a few strong comments for him to realise that the taxi driver was not the main culprit. The videos show that the guy needs to chill out a bit. A couple of the ones highlighted in this thread show drivers being castigated when they are showing they are aware of and taking care not to hit the bikes.

Dare I say the guy needs to take some driving lessons to put some perspective into his cycling attitudes?

he has 9 months under his belt, any decent cyclist can be forged in this amount of time. I would expect him to know his shiz.

The fact of the matter, he couldn't work this out on his own. It took a few people with strong points to show him of this. taking away all the people who were hugging him based on the fact hes a cyclist. he has countless videos of the same thing over and over along with other stuff which should not be there. A poor cyclist at best.
