Hole in fork

Cleaned by bike today - Cube Attain or GTC Disc or something (can’t remember!) it’s about 4 or 5 years old. It’s carbon.

Anyway, these small holes are on the inside of the fork. Almost identical place each side. Is this a major problem? They are holes rather than chips.
Do I ignore it? Buy another fork? Sack the whole thing and get a new bike???

Oh dear. This looks suspiciously like the dreaded carbon worm. Once installed they will reproduce and eat the carbon from the inside. The first thing you'll know is the fork collapses.
Only joking they're probably holes from the laying up or moulding process.

I’m wondering if they are for attaching mudguard stays. Some forks have holes positioned there for that exact purpose. Are the holes same location in each fork?

At least one of my bikes have these. Think it’s just something to do with the manufacturing to allow gas to escape or something.

Thefact that they are in the same place suggests they are put there by design.

They do look pretty messy for planned holes though.

2nd photo looks like a round hole part blocked by paint. I wouldn’t worry.
