Mr S and I are looking at having a weeks holiday this time next year where we will rent a cottage and do some cycle sightseeing. I am looking for suggestions of nice places. Any recommendations?

Not off road. Fairly fit but hills kill me. Other than that anything goes.

East Yorkshire - hugely underrated cycling country, some of the best in the country, beautiful rolling countryside and big, big skies, - and the delights of York, Leeds or Harrogate just a short drive away.

Snowdonia. You can rent a holiday cottage around the Caernarfon area and explore . Plenty to see on a bike and good cycle path up to Porthmadoc.
