It's our fifth wedding anniversary next year, Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia are favourites, much research is under way.

Just got back from Tunisia, had a good time, possibly the best holiday we've had in some years. Not the best resort/country/hotel/experience in many ways but it all seemed very relaxing, comparatively cheap...some minor niggles (no holiday is perfect)...but overall very happy with it went.

Next year ? ...we discussed that on the last day, many places in europe are getting too expensive. This years hol was £1400 all inclusive, transfers, everything included. A similar holiday in Spain was £2000 plus, just mickey mouse money IMO.

Done Turkey twice, Greek islands three times, Spain twice, Egypt, now Tunisia...its getting harder every year to find somewhere new, but close enough to be sensible money.

GBB - Croatia might be worth a punt.
My parents in law did Split before the Balkans blew up in everyones faces, they thought it was brilliant.

Me ?, call it odd, peculiar, bigoted, stupid, whatever, but ive no intention of visiting a country that showed such bestial treatment of their neighbours or fellow countrymen just a couple of decades ago. Bestial is the only way i can think of describing it. For that reason, the balkans as a whole are off the list, but thanks for the suggestion
I'm sure its a lovely area, with many nice people....but not for me.

On a nicer note (sorry to drag it down)..the Cape Verde islands may get another look this year. Did quite a bit of research last year, looks really nice, a little expensive perhaps, but worth a lookee.

If you want any pointers...!

In the process of booking a 3-month trip to Goa - November to January. Lovely. :sun:
Made friends in Tunisia who've done Goa and used to work with a girl who'd been there too, always heard good things about it.

Part 1 Croatia - Fair enough

Part 2 Cape Verde - Colleague went there last year for a honeymoon, beautiful place but you can't leave the resort without an escort, the locals were not tourist friendly.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
Doubt i will be going away next year unless i get a promotion, trying to downsize house as i do not want SWMBO to go back to work after maternity but given we have had 1 viewing in 4 months even though we are priced right i think she will have to anyway .Lost over £100 a month in child tax credits so money is very tight.
