Cycling Dan

Cycle Crazy
Ive been looking up holland and now im not too sure about it.
I see that if a cycle lane is provided even if its not ideal or helpful to you by law you have to use it. You are not allowed in the same lane as cars for any reason!
Well thats all well and good but it feels a bit like the JIm Crow laws of the USA , Seperate but equal.
Granted there infrastructure seems good(in area) but im still not sure. I dont like the idea that i am force to use a cycle lane. I still would like the option not to use it.

Anyway Seperate but equal.

Not quite true - if you're riding a cycle that's wider than 75cm, you can go in the road, but expect to be beeped for it.
