Hollowtech2 BB compatibility road-mtb

My bb-mt501 is crunching like pepper grinder.
I came across bb-r60 that is 1/2 price of bb-mt501(ultegra cheaper than Deore?)
I suspect road BB won't work with MTB cranckset but can anybody confirm with 100% certainty?

I think the ultegra one will fit because the only difference will be the length of the sleeve. So use the sleeve from mt501 and use the outboard bits from r60. See the photo below.

All the bearings for Hollowtech are the same, be they standard or Ultegra, road or MTB
