Good for her. When I went round the world my rental income covered my travel expenses. It doesn’t take long before you settle into your new way of living.

Extreme? That's only 3000 miles a year. Poor effort really.

The economics of this bother me.

I think that i would need an average of about £50 a day. Food & accomodation, consumables and not much else
That's about £18k, without bike bits, travel, clothing replacement, insurance. Put £5k aside for that.
NRF would be £25k.
Then there will be the odd flight home and replacement bike.

How long do you think a bike will last doing the 60/100km a day?

My income is divided in 2 and the budget of £25k is a bit more than my disposable cash income

In most of S America, SE Asia £50 is a kings ransom. Good quality touring bikes are designed for endless grind and she is totally out of the rat race and seeing most of humanity isn't all bad. Debs and Tom who gave a yt channel do something similar and are having a ball proving age is irrelevant if you are reasonably fit.

Thanks, think my other half might not be too keen on me renting out my half of the martial home.
Also I suppose every journey starts with first step and all that.

But overnight shelter is dodgy or costs.

If I had the financial wherewithal and no commitments and back in the EU I would most certainly start with a long no time constraint tour similar to Hobbes on Tour of this parish.
