The economics of this bother me.
I think that i would need an average of about £50 a day. Food & accomodation, consumables and not much else
That's about £18k, without bike bits, travel, clothing replacement, insurance. Put £5k aside for that.
NRF would be £25k.
£50 per day is a lot. Particularly given she sleeps in a tent, so accommodation cost will be low.
I really don't think she will be spending £25K per year the way she is living - and nor are most of us spending that much in general, relatively few have that much income after tax.
Well she isn't doing that much per day, but if she were, and it is a bike designed for touring/trekking, then several years. Then there will be the odd flight home and replacement bike.
How long do you think a bike will last doing the 60/100km a day?
Look at the big Hobbes touring thread to see how long such a bike can last.
My income is divided in 2 and the budget of £25k is a bit more than my disposable cash income
As I say above, that is true for most of us - but I don't see how she is going to be spending more than most of us will living at home, with a mortgage and car(s).
