Homebrew MTB stinger found near Holmfirth

Warning of a homemade MTB (or possibly Trial Motorbike?) stinger found near Holmfirth.
This is just beyond belief and could cause very serious injury to bridleway users especially MTB riders or horses.
Whoever did this, if caught, needs sending down.

A 'stinger' is one suggestion, but could it also be a piece of wood with nails in it that joined 2 other pieces of wood together which some ignorant fly tipper threw away. Although if found they ought to be prosecuted, but where has the assumption come from that it was deliberate?

Hidden in water, on a single track bridleway. And does this look as though it was ever joined to another piece of wood?
