I had a nice day today, went out for lunch with the family as it is my mums birthday, thought I would ride there as the weather was good, not a massive distance, about 20 miles but a lot of hills, nevertheless enjoyable.

Anyhoo, on the way home as stocks are low and I didn`t even have any milk for a cuppa I thought I would pop into Lidl`s and get some milk and some cake to have with my brew:hungry:

I went in, picked up 2 cartons on longlife, and a swiss roll, and went to find the least manic checkout to pay for them. There was a woman there who had stacked the belt high and it was crammed. Now, fair play to the chap on the checkout, he asked her "do you mind if I serve this other guy first as he has very little?", she turned around and said "NO YOU CAN`T!!"

I know she didn`t have to do it, but come on, what attitude!!

I then stood there getting angry, and shouted across a very sarcastic "thanks very much", to which she replied with a whole load of abuse.

I walked out, left my stuff, and hurled a load of abuse back. I don`t normally bite as I value my dignity, but she p*ssed me off!!

I will go back and apologise to the chap who was serving, as he was on my side, but she was such a bitch:evil:

I agree with you @speccy1 some times you just have to "loose" one's cool, I was in our local Lidl earlier and yes the till's can be manic to say the least as I stood waiting a lady came up behind me with just a couple of items in her hands so me being the "nice" chap I am insisted she went through before me ! She asked are you sure with a smile and on leaving she did say thankyou, so I guess that they are not all bad lol.

I`ve done it for people, and had people do it for me, it`s no bother, she clearly didn`t like my cycling kit..................

I agree, but you also can`t help seeing red sometimes

She was before you in the queue - It is up to her is she lets you jump the queue or not; not up to you and not up to the till operator. I cannot see what you are complaining about to be honest - just wait like everyone else, unless you are somehow special ?
I agree with you totally, but I didn`t deserve to be called a "cyclist tw*t" by a woman who looked like she belongs on the Jeremy Kyle stage. Wouldn`t you get hacked off??

This would be after your sarcastic comment though ? I am guessing if you had waited then everything would have passed peacefully, you would have got your cake and milk, and everyone's blood pressure would have been lower
