I had that happening yesterday with a 500 mL bottle in the front cage of my CAAD5. I normally use 750 mL bottles and they don't rattle. I bent the cage slighly and that eliminated the noise.Water bottles ratting in their cages? That happens on one of my bikes at higher speeds on rough roads. (top gears = high speeds)
Im quite sure it's mechanical. Maybe micro shift needs adjustment. Not sure though. Can you tell exactly where the rattle is coming from?
Not easy when moving at warp factor 9 trying to dodge potholes and girls and boys in tin cans. This is really not something you'll solve by proxy. Look for it when you ride.
A damn side easier than trying to diagnose it from text. Not easy when moving at warp factor 9 trying to dodge potholes and girls and boys in tin cans.
Agreed. But no rattles below the two top gears.A damn side easier than trying to diagnose it from text.
Try warp factor 2 or 3 and a safe place to ride whilst looking down. Or is that too complicated?
Thanks . possibly right. Bike has had first service but will ask LBS for advice. If bike is new and has done only 500 miles then likely all that is needed is the cable tension wants adjusting - quite normal for a new bike to need this after a bedding in period. The bike shop0 u bought it from should have offered a post-sales check up for it.
