Or a New Guinea Busy Lizzie. Keep it moist (oooh, matron!) and feed once a week with a high potash fertiliser (tomato food)

I had a cheese plant and used to polish the leaves

Shaun
My mum bought one of those in the mid 1980's. It was still alive when her house was sold in 2014. She had some cream stuff you put on the leaves to make them shiny. After about 5 years she didn't bother and the leaves became covered in dust. I'd put it outside for her when it was raining to wash the muck off.

I'm now into looking in peoples windows to see what they have plant wise. I saw one today that was a very bright green, almost high viz green in colour. That'd be nice. Something that stands out! I knocked on their door to ask about it,but no one answered.

We have a Streptocarpus for our West facing window - it gets late afternoon sun and is perfectly happy.

It supplies a never-ending supply of great flowers and nice leaves during summer to late autumn. It just needs the odd-feed (and no over-watering).

I do my own stunts
I would get some bindweed, we have it in our garden, brilliant stuff. Pretty white flowers and you can hack it back as much as you like and it won't die. I only have things in my garden that can be maintained with a lawnmower or chainsaw.

Plus inside it wouldn't be able to spread anywhere, which seems to be the primary downside of it.

Go for a parrot plant. It's a member of the busy lizzie family. It'll grow to 3' tall and is easy to propagate from. You can kick it out in the summer.

I remember planting a seed back in the early 90's and growing it on my mates window sill, on a main road of all places  It was never going to do anything but the plant looked quite nice. His little brother killed it when he fed it undiluted tomato food. Probably did us a favour before the cops saw it or we got reported as it was in his parents house

I planted 8 weed seeds years ago and like you didn't expect much.To my surprise 6 of them flourished so much that the plants reached 4ft in height. I'd even nip home from work in my lunch break to move them round to catch maximum sunlight. No flowers appeared but i dried out the leaves and smoked them. Not bad for nothing and the smell was wonderful!

Ours covered the whole window also. Couldn't quite believe the size it reached in the given time.

I reckon they would make a good ornimental plant for the garden

Apologies as I didn't want to derail your thread

Ok confession time. I also planted a few seeds on my dad's grave:secret:. They also grew, but only to about 2ft. He would've laughed if he'd been there,if you know what i mean.
