My name is David Higson and I'm a cycle-holic. There, I've said it in public although I see little chance of recovery. I have an interest in restoring old three-speeds to their former glory. I ride a 1983 Dawes Diploma that I'm currently patching up. I also have a modern Probike Vintage and a Peugeot "Assagai" mountain bike from 1995. I'm glad to be part of a place that discusses bikes.

:welcome: My latest project is an 80s Raleigh 3spd "sit up and beg" but its got a bit delayed. :cursing:

Whilst the bicycle that I'm currently lavishing attention on is the Dawes, I'm also "doing up" two roadsters for my wife, (a 1987 Triumph and a 1993 Apollo County.) Both of these are beautiful bikes. I hesitate to say "old" because I remember riding a similar Triumph back in my younger days and, of course, I'm not old ;)
We're dangerously close to that N+ number at the moment as pretty much the whole family cycles and when my sons are home there's no room in the garage for the car.

Thanks for the welcome. I notice that you mention you ride a Paper bike. Are they as good as they look?
Not suitable on hilly areas, as they are very heavy - mine is a 21kg single speed one, hub gears are available.
On the plus side, never needs cleaning or adjusting, you can wear baggy trousers or skirts :girl:
