Re-built a wheel as my rim was badly worn (calling Fnaar).
What do I do with the old rim to fit it into the rubbish bag? Or just D-lock it to a lampost overnight and let the scrotes do me a favour?

If aluminium, recycle it.

As Drago hints, an amount of cutting will help. A hacksaw will do if you don't have access to power tools. If you don't have a hacksaw, jam it somewhere solid and lean on it. Drain grates in the road are ideal for this.

"Scrap Metal Any item with a reasonable metal content."
I've recently taken damaged rim to our local 'don't call it a 'tip'!'

If it's only an alloy 700c it should crush by hand holding it in front of your chest in the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock positions and giving it a good squeeze. Once bent in half it can put over the knee and bent more. .

Local bike shop/hub always has a scrap metal bin/heap.
When they have enough they sell it to the metal merchant.
Every little helps

Day-dreaming and hitting a pothole at speed worked worked wonders on the front wheel of my winter fixed wheeler a few years ago:okay:
