I have an 80's Fuji road bike and I want to know how to apply restoration stickers and decals. My road bike is my all time favorite bike to own and ride, and about 5 years back when I got it, I painted it and forgot to cover the model decal but I covered up where it said F U J I. Does anyone have any experience with applying restoration stickers and decals? If so, can you please tell me how to do it. It will be highly appreciated. Thanks! Happy cycling! ;)

Depends on the decal type - ie die-cut, waterslide, etc - although if you've painted over the old decals, then it doesn't sound like the finish is going to be that good anyway..

Waterslide transfers are best, being thin and screenprint ink-based. Should be over-laquered for permanence.

CAD-cut vinyl is the cheap way. Modern vinyls are longer-lasting than older, and they don't suffer shrinkage nearly as much.

When did the American 'decal' supplant the proper English 'transfer'?
