Perhaps you shouldn't have implied that one should get out of the way as the first priority then, like the mad scattered reactions you so loved to talk about at such length?

Instead of panicking like most seem to, just look for the best place to let them pass. This could be as simple as pulling over. But if you take into account what others are doing or not doing you may need to speed up, all depends. No two woo woo is the same.

Just thought I'd mention as well as cyclists in the open, I get the impression from when I'm in a car vs on the bike that we get to hear the woo-woo and be aware of where it is a lot earlier than anyone in a vehicle:thumbsup: Very often woo-woo will disapear before it gets anywhere near me....

My biggest tip for cyclists, look right at the driver of the emergency vehicle if possible once you have stopped. This means the driver knows you have seen them and can safely pass.

Once people look at you, you know they can see you and that makes things much safer for everyone. Oh and please, please, please ensure your safety has far more priority than the progress of the emergency vehicle. Getting killed by trying to get out of the way helps no one and will only delay the emergency vehicle.
